The Legislative and Judiciary Committee of the National Assembly held the first subcommittee for bill review from 2 pm today (26th) to review the so-called 'examination and completion of the bill', the main content of which is to separate the prosecution's investigative and prosecuting powers.

The Democratic Party, the majority party, plans to hold a plenary meeting immediately after reviewing the amendments to the Prosecutor's Office Act and the Criminal Procedure Act by the second lieutenant of the Judiciary Committee and finalize the resolution within today.

Afterwards, the plan is to hold a plenary session of the National Assembly as early as the day after tomorrow or at the latest by the end of the day to pass the bill through coordination with National Assembly Speaker Park Byung-seok.

Earlier, on the 22nd, the Democratic Party and the floor leader of the People's Power reached an agreement to handle the so-called 'examination and complete arbitration plan' prepared by Chairman Park at the extraordinary session of the National Assembly in April.

However, as the People's Power leadership announced yesterday that a reconsideration was necessary, the handling of the arbitration agreement became unclear.

After that, the second lieutenant of the Judiciary Committee, made up of the Democratic Party and People's Power lawmakers, reviewed the bill centered on the arbitration proposal presented by Chairman Park until late last night, but could not reach a conclusion.

Accordingly, the Democratic Party's leadership repeatedly announced that it would take the action independently at a plenary meeting with the second lieutenant of the Judiciary Committee today at the meeting of the party's floor countermeasures committee in the morning.
