A 35-year-old man was taken into custody at the Carpentras police station (Vaucluse) on Monday.

This resident of the city had just turned himself in to the police after being considered a fugitive over the weekend.

He was indeed under a prison sentence served at home with an electronic bracelet, explains

Threats and Harassment

The company responsible for the remote monitoring of the convicts had however lost track of it and alerted the prosecution and the police.

The fugitive's ex-girlfriend then filed a complaint against her former boyfriend for harassment and threats.

It is precisely of the facts of this nature that the thirty-something had previously been found guilty.

After surrendering, the Carpentrassien said that his electronic bracelet had broken by accident while he was gardening at home.

This explanation did not convince the police.
