The number of people hospitalized with Covid-19 in France was down slightly according to figures published Tuesday by health authorities, compared to the day before and the previous Tuesday.

79.2% of the population vaccinated

Hospitals had 24,703 patients with Covid-19, according to data from Public Health France, compared to 24,980 on Monday and 25,465 a week ago.

Of these 24,980 patients, 1,667 were in critical care units, which receive the most serious cases, against 1,659 the day before and 1,681 on April 19.

Public Health France reports Tuesday 97,498 cases of contamination with the SARS-CoV2 virus.

The average of infections over the last seven days, which smooths out statistical jolts, stands at 85,588 against 93,238 a week ago.

54.32 million people have received at least one dose of vaccine (i.e. 80.6% of the total population) and 53.42 million are fully vaccinated (79.2% of the total population)
