Ten thousand dollars a day until he agrees to cooperate is the fine imposed on Donald Trump by a Manhattan Supreme Court judge.

The magistrate believes that the former president is in contempt of court by refusing to return to justice the documents requested by Laetitia James.

The New York Attorney General, who is continuing her investigation into Donald Trump's affairs, explained to the judge that the Republican billionaire did not respond to the injunction to produce documents whose deadline was set for March 31.

More than six million pages of documents

By responding favorably to the request of the prosecutor, the judge inflicts a new defeat on the former president whose lawyer has once again denounced a witch hunt.

Donald Trump has been trying to block the investigation of Laetitia James who suspects him of tax evasion for more than two years.

His organization has already had to hand over more than six million pages of financial documents and tax returns.

But investigators are seeking personal records that would prove Donald Trump's company undervalued certain assets in order to obtain loans or tax deductions.
