A referee filed a complaint in Moncontour (Côtes-d'Armor) this Sunday after being the victim of death threats during an amateur football match.

The meeting opposed the Saint-Brieuc FO club to that of Quessoy US, reports Ouest France.

The facts obviously did not occur during the match but at the end of the sports meeting.

It is a player from Saint-Brieuc who is said to be the source of the threats and violence towards the referee, a 53-year-old man.

An open investigation

The police received the victim's complaint.

This would have been threatened “several times”, according to the first elements.

The footballer implicated in the case has not yet been heard.

The investigation is continuing to shed light on all the facts.

When questioned, the Saint-Brieuc club did not wish to react, and simply recalled that it advocated respect for all its players.
