Lavrov said that Washington does not show interest in communicating with Moscow on Ukraine, stressing that the parameters of the agreement with Ukraine to end the war will be determined by the stage of hostilities, when this agreement will become a reality, as he put it.

On the other hand, the Ukrainian Foreign Minister said in a tweet that Russia is talking about a real danger of a third world war, "because it has lost the last hope of intimidating the world from supporting Ukraine." Minister Kuleba added in his Twitter account that Russian statements about a third world war "mean that the Moscow feels defeat in Ukraine.

Western weapons

In a related context, the Russian Foreign Minister said that the Western weapons received by Ukraine are an indication that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) "is in fact engaged in a war with Russia through a proxy," stressing that Moscow considers these Western weapons "legitimate targets of the activities of the Russian army." in the context of the special operation in Ukraine".

Pentagon spokesman John Kirby described the meeting as a consultation that will address ways in which Ukraine's partners can contribute to strengthening its military power after the end of the war.

Kirby said Secretary Austin and the participants will discuss how they can continue to help meet Ukraine's current needs, and what weapons the various partners can provide as the Russia-Ukrainian war unfolds.

Kirby stressed that the meeting will not be held under the auspices of NATO, and will not necessarily produce any immediate tangible results.

An American delegation headed by Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Defense Minister Lloyd Austin visited Kyiv on Sunday, where they met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. Blinken said Washington had developed a strategy to support Ukraine, stressing that Russia had failed to control Ukraine, as he put it.

The US Secretary of State also confirmed that his country will move forward in assisting the Ukrainians and enhancing their capabilities in the battle, and that US diplomats will return to Kyiv next week.


And US media reported that the US secretaries of state and defense told the Ukrainian president that Washington would provide 322 million dollars to Ukraine, as part of new foreign military aid, bringing the total security assistance to Ukraine since the start of the war to about 3.7 billion dollars.

On the other hand, French Ambassador to Washington Philippe Etienne said that his country's foreign policy towards Ukraine will not change after Emmanuel Macron's victory in the presidential elections, and Etienne said in an interview with CNN that President Macron pledged to provide arms to Ukraine and visit Kyiv when the opportunity arises Thus, he indicated that the talks that President Macron had previously held with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, were in close coordination with Ukraine.

The French ambassador stressed that Paris will continue to support Ukraine in its accession to the European Union.

On the other hand, United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres expressed his support for Turkish diplomatic efforts to find a solution to the Russian war on Ukraine.
