“Hemorrhagic fever” spreads in Iraqi governorates .. 4 deaths

Cases of hemorrhagic fever swept through Iraqi provinces, while the Ministry of Health recorded 18 injuries and 4 deaths, amid warnings of an outbreak of the disease and an exacerbation of the number of infected people. According to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

A spokesman for the Ministry of Health, Saif Al-Badr, said that "the number of cases of hemorrhagic fever reached 18 cases throughout Iraq, and 4 deaths."

Al-Badr called to "take caution and follow the preventive instructions to avoid contracting this dangerous disease."

According to the doctor, a number of viruses cause hemorrhagic fever, and the disease may be simple sometimes, but at other times it may threaten life, knowing that it is transmitted from some animals and insects to humans, and the infection can also be transmitted from one person to another.

Most of the injuries were concentrated in the Dhi Qar governorate in the south of the country, where the ministry announced, on Monday, the dispatch of a high-ranking delegation to the city headed by the Director General of the Public Health Department, where several measures were taken in coordination with the local government in the governorate, ministries and other bodies.

Specialists indicate that Dhi Qar has recorded 30 cases since the middle of last year, 10 of whom died, and the concerned authorities in the governorate launched a control campaign in the red meat markets.

And "Sky News Arabia" quoted the health media as saying that "the health control teams in the Nasiriyah first sector are continuing their control campaigns to follow up on butcher shops and the sale of red meat located in markets and neighborhoods towards Shamiya, to supervise on the ground the availability of health and preventive conditions necessary for the health and safety of citizens."
