The presidential campaign is coming to an end with the re-election of Emmanuel Macron as head of the Élysée on Sunday evening.

The legislative battle is now on.

Nevertheless, just before returning to the campaign, steps must be taken in order to officially record the election of the president.

And now ?

For the second time, Emmanuel Macron was elected President of the Republic with 58% of the vote.

If this re-election marks the start of the campaign for the legislative elections, there is above all a process to follow for Emmanuel Macron and the institutions in order to officially complete the re-election of the Head of State.

The official investiture will take place between April 27 and May 13

The first step in this calendar is the announcement of the official results.

The President of the Constitutional Council, Laurent Fabius, will proclaim them the day after tomorrow, Wednesday April 27.

The investiture will take place between Wednesday April 27 and that of the end of the current mandate of Emmanuel Macron, namely May 13.

The ceremony will take place in the hall of the Elysée.

Until then, the outgoing president can appoint a new prime minister whenever he wishes.

Jean Castex, the current Prime Minister, has announced that he will resign soon along with his government.

He will still remain in post at least until the end of the week in order to ensure the transition.
