Three women and a man were stabbed to death in an apartment in south-east London, police said Monday morning and said they had arrested a suspect.

Stab wounds

They were found dead on Monday morning by police, who had been called at 1:40 a.m. (00:40 GMT) for a nuisance in Southwark, a London district located south of the Thames.

Police "found four people suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds," London police said in a statement.

“Despite the efforts of rescuers, the four people – three women and one man – were pronounced dead at the scene.

A man suspected of being linked to the murders has been arrested and taken into custody and an investigation has been opened.

The five people apparently knew each other.
