A great boost of citizenship took place this weekend in Valence (Drôme).

As the second round of the 2022 presidential election approached, the police helped a nonagenarian from the region to vote, reports Le Dauphiné.

This Saturday, the 99-year-old resident, who lives in Bourg-lès-Valence, called the police station and explained that she had not been able to complete her power of attorney request in time.

Her son was to vote for her but a setback had prevented her from going to town hall.

They file the power of attorney

Neither one nor two, the Valence police went to the nonagenarian, who will celebrate her 100th birthday this year.

They collected his power of attorney request themselves.

The next day, election day, the police officers took it upon themselves to bring the document to the pensioner's polling station, explaining the situation.

The president of the office agreed to receive it, allowing the son of the nonagenarian to vote for her for the second round.
