His friends had the idea to fake his kidnapping to surprise him.
Unfortunately, a resident witnessed this larger-than-life kidnapping in front of his home.
Seeing the "victim" forced into a van by three hooded men, he immediately alerted the gendarmerie.
No penalty
The military immediately triggered an abduction alert.
It was not until the next morning that the van was finally identified.
Contacted, the owner of the vehicle then explained to the military that it was a birthday surprise.
Summoned to the gendarmerie, the victim, safe and sound, confirmed the facts.
The organizers of the fake kidnapping were not punished.
The gendarmes made a point of recalling that this kind of joke can cause useless mobilization of the forces of order and relief.
