According to reports, the South Korean government lowered the level of the new crown infectious disease to Category B and set a transition period of four weeks.

As a result, from the 25th, medical institutions can report confirmed cases of new crowns within 24 hours.

According to the classification of infectious diseases in Korea, Class A infectious diseases may originate from bioterrorist attacks, or have a very high fatality rate, or have a very high risk of collective infection, and must be reported immediately and subjected to high-standard isolation, such as Ebola, plague, anthrax, Middle East Respiratory Syndrome, etc.

Category B includes tuberculosis, chickenpox, measles, cholera and other infectious diseases that must be reported and quarantined within 24 hours.

As for the management of confirmed cases, the South Korean government will maintain the current quarantine policy and other epidemic prevention policies until the end of May.

South Korean epidemic prevention officials said the number of confirmed cases is still high, so isolation measures need to be maintained.

On the other hand, according to the new regulations, South Koreans can eat when they use indoor sports facilities, cinemas and performance venues, libraries, large supermarkets and other public gathering places from the 25th, and the fasting order on public transport is also lifted.

In addition, the South Korean government will start discussions on whether to lift the obligation to wear masks outdoors.

According to the current epidemic prevention regulations, masks must be worn when indoor and outdoor people cannot maintain a distance of more than 2 meters, and when participating in gatherings such as rallies and performances.
