“During the course of the special military operation, Roskomnadzor blocked more than 85 thousand of this kind of materials, including entire resources that systematically generate such content,” Subbotin said during a speech at the XI Safe Internet Forum.

According to him, in the last week of February alone, the agency recorded “tens of thousands of units of illegal content purposefully targeted at Russian users.”

Subbotin recalled that Google was fined more than 7 billion rubles for not deleting prohibited information on YouTube.

In February, Roskomnadzor demanded that Google restrict access to inaccurate materials as part of Google Ads contextual advertising.

In addition, Roskomnadzor demanded that Google remove all restrictions on the YouTube channels of such Russian media outlets as RBC, Zvezda and Sputnik in Ukraine.
