• 2:08 a.m .: Brussels prepares “smart sanctions” against Moscow on oil imports

The European Union is preparing "intelligent sanctions" against Russian oil imports, the British daily The Times reported on Monday (April 25th), quoting the Vice-President of the European Commission, Valdis Dombrovskis.

“We are working on a sixth sanctions package and we are considering resorting to some kind of oil embargo. When we impose sanctions, we must do so in a way that amplifies the pressure on Russia while minimizing the collateral damage that could hit us," Valdis Dombrovskis told The Times.
