He also expressed hope for strengthening Franco-American cooperation in combating climate change, defending democracy and supporting Ukraine.
Earlier, the Presidents of the European Commission and the European Council, Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel, congratulated Emmanuel Macron on his victory in the presidential election in France.
After counting 100% of the vote, Macron won 58.55% in the second round of the presidential election.
