More than 2,000 people gathered at the Champ de Mars to welcome Emmanuel Macron on Sunday evening but far from the smiles, cries of joy and fervently waved French flags, there are also those French people who do not feel concerned by this election, the abstainers or those who voted reluctantly.

Europe 1 went to meet them.

REPORT

The result of the second round of the presidential election does not delight all French people.

Some are disappointed, bitter, others indifferent or angry.

There are also those who chose to vote for a candidate reluctantly or who abstained.

The Eiffel Tower sparkles, we hear the Ode to Joy resonate in the distance, fills the Champ de Mars and the cries of the crowd where 2,000 people greeted the arrival of Emmanuel Macron.

But only two streets away, no tricolor flag, no blissful smile for Agathe and her group of friends.

They voted Emmanuel Macron but do not have the heart to celebrate.

"I went to vote for the lesser worst of the two"

"I didn't think about going to the Champ de Mars at all. I wasn't really aware of it and it didn't interest me more than that", she testifies at the microphone of Europe 1. "None of the two candidates does not suit me, so I will not go and celebrate a victory which, in the end, does not represent me", she continues.

"I too went to vote for the lesser worst of the two, we are disappointed but we deal with it", continues his friend.

A few meters further on, the same disillusioned atmosphere for Lucie and Marvin.

They return from a nocturnal stroll, and they abstained in the presidential election.

"I didn't vote simply because I'm not going to participate in this masquerade. For me, it's not going to change anything: I got up this morning, I'm going to go back to sleep, I'm going to get up tomorrow morning" , launches Marvin.

"We know very well that in five years, they will not necessarily do what they say so it is useless in the end", breathes Lucie.

A feeling of weariness for these two friends who expect nothing, they say, from these five new years of Emmanuel Macron at the Elysée.
