Like wildfire, a picture of a family in Gaza spread on social media who had memorized the Holy Quran in full, and was among the honored athletes in the Al-Aqsa Regiment.

Six brothers made the event at the "Palestine Stadium" in Gaza, which hosted a ceremony honoring the memorized athletes, and their celebration quickly moved from the stadium to the communication platforms, where their pictures spread with their parents on a large scale, with poignant words that praise this family and invite them to follow it.

Quranic moons, a description given to the six brothers: Salma, Hind, Ibrahim, Sarah, Jannah and Ahmed, the children of Tariq Aslim, to complete the contract of the memorizers of this family, as their seventh brother Muhammad preceded them by completing the memorization of the Holy Quran.

Quranic family

The father of these satellites is the engineer Tariq Aslam, who paved the way for them early, and provided them with all means of motivation and encouragement to go on this journey with the Holy Qur’an, and he says - to Al Jazeera Net - “I memorize parts of the Qur’an since childhood, and God did not write for me the blessing of memorizing it completely, and I worked hard to I make it up to my children."

Aslam "Abu Muhammad", an expert in information systems, credits his wife, who is a pharmacist, the credit for what their children have reached on their journey with the Qur'an.

About 30 years have passed since Abu Muhammad’s relationship with his wife, and he says, “Since the days of our first marriage, I encouraged her to delve deeper into the Qur’an, reciting, memorizing, and perfecting its rulings (..) and thus ensuring the durability of the main pillar of the home, and if the home is the children’s first school, then a righteous woman is the main pillar for him".

This had a great positive impact on raising children and raising them with a love of the Qur’an, according to Abu Muhammad, who continues, “We are a people under occupation, and only a Qur’anic generation will recover our rights, liberate our land, and purify our sanctities.”

The engineer, Tariq, descends from a refugee family from the village of “Beit Mahsir” district of the occupied city of Jerusalem. He was born and raised outside Palestine, until he decided, of his own will, to return alone to Gaza in 1994, with a temporary visit permit issued by the occupation authorities at the time to those called “displaced persons” who do not have Palestinian identity cards, and decided to stay and settle, to achieve - in his opinion - "the initial return to Palestine from the Gaza gate."

"I believe in emigration to Palestine and not abroad," says Abu Muhammad, who currently resides in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza City.

religion and world

Abu Muhammad found a positive impact of Quran memorization on his children in their school and university education. He says that he adopted with them the methodology of synchronization between discipline in Quran memorization centers and commitment to non-stop education, "thank God that they are all excelling in their schools and universities."

Salma and Muhammad have graduated from the College of Computer Engineering, and Hind is about to graduate from the same college, while Ibrahim is in his third year of study in the same major, Sarah is in the tenth grade, Janna is in the seventh, and the youngest Ahmed is in the fifth primary.

"I am the youngest among my brothers in memorizing the Qur'an," Ahmed says proudly, sitting to his father's left, showing a lot of focus and interest in what is going on during the dialogue.

Ahmed completed the memorization before he reached the age of ten. In addition, he excels in his studies, speaks classical Arabic, is fluent in English, practices “Karate” and loves football.

Here his father intervened, and said, "All the sons are fluent in Arabic and English (...) and even the girls play sports, karate and basketball, and the boys practice swimming and various sports, and some of them excel in chess, most notably Ibrahim."

Ahmed said that he won first place in a local karate championship in the Gaza Strip.

Over the past week, Ahmed continued the events that accompanied the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by Jewish settlers, and said, "I was proud of the courage of the Al-Mourabitoun in repelling the Jews and protecting Al-Aqsa, and I wished I had been with them, defending the first two Qiblas."

We win the Qur'an

Despite his youth, Ibrahim shows a deep belief that “the closer we get to religion, the closer victory will be, and that will accelerate the end of the occupation.”

Ibrahim's journey with memorizing the Qur'an took about 3 years, and he tells Al Jazeera Net, "The path is clear, and as the generation of the companions won the Qur'an, and achieved great conquests, victory will be our ally if we follow their tracks."

Ibrahim advises those who are going to embark on their journey with the Qur’an with the principles of “understanding and memorization,” and said that “understanding the meanings of the Qur’an helps to facilitate its memorization, installation and application in reality and life.”

This understanding of this family in Gaza prompted Sarah - who was nine years old - when she saw Israelis for the first time, during her father's visit to the village of "Beit Mahsir", to ask him innocently, "Who are these?", And when the answer came to her, "They are Jews," She replied spontaneously and disapprovingly, "What are they doing on our land?!".

Ibrahim says, "Israel does not have the viability of a state on our land and in the middle of our Arab and Islamic surroundings, and its demise depends on us helping God to fulfill his promise of victory and empowerment."

wide celebration

Activists on social media circulated pictures of this family, praising it, and calling for it to be followed as a model for a healthy and righteous family.

On his personal Facebook page, the history professor and preacher Nader Abu Sharkh published a picture of the family, attached it to the names of the six brothers, and wrote, "God willing, a Palestinian Gazan model that we are proud of."

Abu Sharekh said - to Al-Jazeera Net - "With such people, we increase our hope for victory and liberation."

He praised their parents, and urged parents to follow the example of the Aslim family, and to contribute to what he described as "building a Muslim generation and preparing it for the stage of liberation."

Abu Sharekh said that encouraging children to memorize the Noble Qur’an has benefits in this world and the hereafter, for the Qur’an protects its owner from evils and temptations, and intercedes for him and intercedes for his family, and the memorizer wears a crown and the garment of dignity, and the memorizer wears the crown of dignity for his parents on the Day of Resurrection.
