The diplomatic mission in Hannam-dong has been confirmed as the new presidential residence of President-elect Yoon Seok-yeol.

Elected spokeswoman Bae Hyun-jin said at a briefing today (24th) at the press conference of the Transition Committee in Toongui-dong, Jongno-gu, Seoul, saying, "Considering security and security costs, we have actually decided to use the new site as the official residence." .

Spokesperson Bae said that it is true that Kim Kun-hee visited the diplomatic mission, but she said, "It is a misinformation that [Mrs. Kim] visited after (appointed) and considered changing the mission by going first."

When asked if there was a problem by suddenly finding it without prior coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, spokesperson Bae countered, "In relation to the relocation of the Oval Office and the diplomatic mission, the working-level staff at the TF pondered over many alternatives for a very long time."

At first, President-elect Yoon's side announced that they would use the Hannam-dong Army General's Office as the presidential residence, illuminating the era of the Yongsan Oval Office.

However, in the process of subsequent repairs, considering the fact that the remodeling took a long time due to the fact that the official residence of the Chief of Staff of the Army was too old, the direction was changed to the official residence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Spokesperson Bae emphasized on the visit of Mrs. Kun-hee Kim, "(After the working group's decision), it has become a procedure to check who will be using it."

Jang Je-won, the elected chief of staff, also met with reporters in front of the office of the transition committee in Tongui-dong and asked if Mrs. Kim had visited before the official residence of the foreign minister was confirmed. It was drawn that the lady's visit and the decision of the official residence were not related.
