Good evening,

did you know that "the" Hessian doesn't even exist?

What there is here, however, is a very unpleasant corruption affair at the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office.

And a policy in Frankfurt's Römer that doesn't necessarily help to develop urban properties more quickly.

Delay:

The coalition in the Frankfurt Römer wants to allocate more urban land in so-called concept procedures.

This means that in a tender, the highest bidder should not necessarily get the chance,

but the one who presents the best concept and fulfills the city's award criteria as best as possible.

The reason for the new definition is the political dispute over Stiftstraße 32, a residential and commercial building from the 1950s in the city center.

The project developer Andrzej Lyson should actually be able to lease the property there and in return undertake to build 30 percent of the apartments in the planned six to seven-storey new building in subsidized housing.

In addition, Lyson wanted to accommodate a cultural use on the ground floor and also planned housing for people with disabilities.

But that was obviously not enough for the city councillors.

Rainer Schulze describes and comments on the case - and doesn't think the procedure is good.

Because it takes a lot of time.

More and more suspects:

The corruption scandal at the Frankfurt public prosecutor's office is spreading

and leading to massive criticism from the opposition in the Hessian state parliament.

According to consistent media reports, another public prosecutor is now being investigated.

The initial suspicion of aiding and abetting infidelity exists against him.

There are now three suspects after it became known in the summer of 2020 that investigations were underway against a senior prosecutor from the Attorney General's Office.

He is accused of commercial bribery, breach of trust in office and tax evasion.

The damage for the state of Hesse is said to be around 500,000 euros.

The beautiful Hessian:

"The" Hessian does not exist at all, at most one could

speak

of a "Hessian language landscape" .

That's what it says in a little book that has just been published, which is not very long, but has a certain authority, after all it comes from the Duden publishing house.

The author is the linguist Lars Vorberger, the title is “Hessian.

From babble and snuggle".

According to the linguist’s thesis, modern Hessian makes it easier for the listener to understand

what Matthias Trautsch explains to our readers: Dragoslav Stepanović’s “Lebbe geht weider” would only sound half as comforting if “weider” had a hard middle.

And

on Sunday morning, hundreds of participants in the

Ukrainian-Orthodox service

in the St. Dionysius Church in Sindlingen celebrated Easter.

“Our services are also well attended in other ways,” Priest Petro Bokanov had previously said.

His suspicion that there could be a lot more this time has proven to be correct

Traffic

As one of eleven side streets, the Grüneburgweg is to be converted into a bicycle-friendly side street.

This requires a partial renovation of the road surface.

The responsible Office for Road Construction and Development (ASE) will tackle this from Monday, April 25th.

Due to the work, lanes will be reduced on Grüneburgweg, between Eschersheimer Landstrasse and Liebigstrasse, until Friday, May 13th.

Pedestrians can pass through the construction site.
