7.739 million registered trademarks were approved and 5,928 applications for Madrid international registration from domestic applicants were received.

A total of 99 products were newly identified as protected geographical indications, and 477 were newly approved for registration of geographical indication certification marks and collective marks.

The number of works and computer software copyright registrations reached 3.984 million and 2.28 million respectively.

3,979 new plant variety rights were granted.

Completely cancel the subsidies and rewards for patent and trademark applications, and severely crack down on abnormal patent applications and malicious trademark registrations.

The added value of the copyright industry reached 7.51 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 2.58%, accounting for 7.39% of GDP.

In 2021, the total amount of national patent and trademark pledge financing will reach 309.8 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 42%, benefiting 15,000 enterprises.

The total import and export of intellectual property royalties was 378.3 billion yuan, of which exports were 76.02 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 27.1%; the growth rate of exports exceeded that of imports by 10.5 percentage points.

A total of 219,000 technical contracts involving intellectual property were signed, and the turnover exceeded 1.4 trillion yuan.

42 intellectual property asset securitization products were issued, with an issuance scale of 9.5 billion yuan.

The executive meeting of the State Council reviewed and approved the reform document on deepening the "delegation, regulation and service" in the field of intellectual property, and deployed 16 reform measures.

The quality and efficiency of intellectual property review continued to improve, the review cycle for high-value invention patents was reduced to 13.3 months, and the average review cycle for trademark registration was stabilized at 4 months, completing the five-year reduction cycle target set by the State Council ahead of schedule.

Intellectual property public service institutions have achieved full coverage of provincial-level and sub-provincial cities.

88 new national intellectual property information public service outlets and 50 new technology and innovation support centers were built.

10 new types of intellectual property data were newly opened, realizing the first opening of integrated circuit layout design data.

Launched the EU Trademark Search System.

  Fifth, international cooperation and competition in intellectual property rights were carried out in an orderly manner.

Successfully promoted RMB to become the international fee pricing and settlement currency related to PCT international patent applications of the World Intellectual Property Organization, and Chinese became the working language of the International Union for the Protection of New Varieties of Plants.

The China-EU Geographical Indication Agreement has been implemented in an orderly manner, and 244 China-EU geographical indication products have been mutually recognized and guaranteed.

The “Belt and Road” intellectual property cooperation has been solidly promoted. Statistics show that in 2021, the number of patent applications submitted by Chinese enterprises in the countries along the “Belt and Road” will be 8,596, a year-on-year increase of 29.4%; the number of patent authorizations will be 4,711, a year-on-year increase of 15.3% %.

In 2021, countries along the route will apply for 25,000 invention patents in China, an increase of 7.7% year-on-year; 16,000 are authorized, an increase of 18.1% year-on-year.
