This follows a violent altercation that occurred on April 15 in Belz.

That day, a 38-year-old man broke into the home of the 60-year-old who lived with his 83-year-old aunt.

The latter was first struck by the individual, leaving with twenty-one days of incapacity.

The man then attacked the sexagenarian "against the background of a probable previous dispute", specifies the public prosecutor of Lorient.

Many kicks to the head

The victim was then beaten up, receiving numerous kicks in the head.

Suffering from major wounds and facial fractures, the sexagenarian was hospitalized at the Nantes University Hospital where he died on Tuesday.

Arrested shortly after the attack, the suspect was placed under judicial supervision.

The investigation was entrusted to the research brigade of the Lorient gendarmerie.
