“Over the past day, more than 10.5 thousand citizens crossed the border to enter Russia through checkpoints located in the Rostov region,” TASS quoted the press service of the Border Guard Department of the FSB of Russia for the Rostov region.

The Investigative Committee of Russia previously opened a round-the-clock hotline for refugees arriving in the country from the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics and Ukraine.

On April 5, it became known that since the beginning of the evacuation of residents of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, almost 516,000 people have crossed the Russian border in the Rostov Region.
