A three-year-old child is rescued after being attacked by wild monkeys in a residential area in Chongqing, China.

Chinese local media, such as Hubei Daily, reported that a wild monkey attacked a child in a village in Chengkou County, Chongqing, around 4:00 pm local time on April 19th, and released CCTV footage of the scene.

The released video shows a wild monkey attacking a child who is playing while pushing a kickboard.

A wild monkey sneaks up behind a child playing in a house alley, attacks her, knocks her down, and drags her child out the alley.

Fortunately, a nearby villager saw this and followed the monkey, and the monkey felt threatened and ran away from the child.

The dizzying moment that almost led to a major accident was confirmed through CCTV footage.

The child attacked by the wild monkey was treated for minor bruises on her face, but was reportedly not seriously injured.

The mother of the victim in the video said, "I was cooking at home at the time of the incident." "I heard the sound of a neighbor shouting that a wild monkey was dragging the child and went outside the house, and with the help of the neighbors, the child was rescued safely. "He said.

However, this is not the first time wild monkeys have suffered damage in this village.

Because wild monkeys have attacked old people before.

“A monkey appeared in the village in May of last year and formed a group with other monkeys,” said one resident.

He also expressed concern about the danger of wild monkeys, saying, "There are many children in the village, and I am afraid that the monkeys will attack the children."

Upon receiving the damage, local police authorities started a search for wild monkeys.

An official from the Chengkou County Police Department of Chongqing City said, "To prevent wild monkeys from breaking into residential areas, we will increase patrol personnel and do everything we can to protect the safety of residents."
