Today (24th) begins with a report on the verification of candidates for Minister of Health and Welfare Jeong Ho-young.

As a result of SBS coverage, it was confirmed that candidate Jung received a small business tax deduction while serving as the head of Kyungpook National University Hospital.

The owner of this building is Chung Ho-young, a candidate for Minister of Health and Welfare.

Candidate Chung, who inherited the building and land from her father in 1994, receives a monthly rent of 23 million won.

However, it was revealed that candidate Jeong used his position as a rental business operator to join the 'Yellow Umbrella Deduction' for small business owners and then received tax benefits.

According to the data submitted to the National Assembly, over the past five years from 2017 to 21, the maximum payment limit of 2 million won was saved each year, and tax savings of up to 990,000 won per year were saved.

The Yellow Umbrella Mutual Aid is a system operated for business recovery and livelihood stabilization in preparation for the closure, death, or aging of small business owners.

However, candidate Chung, a high-value rental business, joined here.

Candidate Chung, who was the head of Kyungpook National University Hospital in 2017, also served as the chairman of Saemaul Geumgo, who was criticized for unauthorized concurrent positions.

However, it is pointed out that it is not appropriate as a candidate for a public office to receive a deduction for small business owners for more than four years after the resignation of the chairman even if it was for performance purposes.

[Choi Jong-yoon / Democratic Party member: I signed up for a deductible that was created to protect small businesses from the threat of livelihood and used it as a means of saving taxes.

As a public figure, it is impossible to see that he has a public mind, and he is very disrespectful (behavior)]

Candidate Ho-Young Jeong earned more than 500 million won last year, including the salary of a professor at Kyungpook National University and the rent at a shopping mall in Dongseong-ro.
