▲ Statement of the Ukrainian army claiming the bombing of the Russian field command

Ukrainian forces claimed that they bombed a field headquarters where high-ranking Russian military officers were gathered, killing two Russian generals.

The New York Times reported on the 23rd local time that the Ukrainian Defense Ministry's intelligence agency issued a statement saying that it had achieved such a crime during a clash with Russian forces in southern Kherson.

Ukrainian forces attacked the Russian field headquarters near the fighting area in Kherson, a major southern city occupied by the Russians shortly after the invasion, killing two generals and transporting other senior officers seriously wounded.

In a separate statement, a former military intelligence officer who served as an adviser to the Ukrainian presidential office also claimed that about 50 high-ranking Russian military officers were present at the time of the attack on the Russian field headquarters.

"The exact fate of the Russian high-ranking officers is unknown, but unfortunate things must have happened," the official added.

The New York Times reported that at this time it was not possible to ascertain whether the claims of the Ukrainian military were true, but Russia did not respond much to this.
