As Google employees come back to life on corporate headquarters after more than two years of working remotely, the company has an impressive new office for workers in New York.

Google has officially opened a new headquarters on the quayside of the Hudson River, located on the largest rooftop building in New York.

The new 630,000-square-foot facility, located at Pier 57, houses 3 buildings and can accommodate approximately 450 employees.

The space, which includes a two-acre rooftop garden, will include a new public dining hall, community space and a tech-filled public classroom that will provide environmental education programs.

At the ribbon-cutting ceremony last Monday, Ruth Porat, chief financial officer of Alphabet and Google, indicated the American company is keen to hire more employees in New York.

"It's the daring that makes the magic of New York, and that for us is the really exciting thing, what we keep building on," Porat said of New York, according to bizjournals.

Google said last week that its investments in the United States in offices and data centers will reach nearly $ 9.5 billion in the United States in 2022, including its expansions in New York.

A company spokesperson said the company plans to develop an additional 1.7 million square feet of office space in the Hudson Square neighborhood.

And this April, the company began to force the return of offices for most employees after two years of working remotely during the pandemic.

The company required employees to start returning to physical offices at least 3 days a week for "mixed" work.
