China News Service, Beijing, April 22 (Reporter Li Jingze) Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Zhao Lijian hosted a regular press conference on April 22.

A reporter asked: Some European officials said that in the context of the situation in Ukraine, China-Russia relations and cooperation will bring risks to China-EU relations.

How does China respond to this?

Zhao Lijian: My colleagues and I have repeatedly stated China's position on the Ukraine issue.

China has always made its own judgment based on the right and wrong of the matter itself.

On the Ukrainian issue, what we are up to is justice, what we seek is peace, and we focus on the long-term. There is no question of who is pro against whom.

If you have to say what China is close to and what it is against, then China stands on the side of peace and opposes war; China stands on the side of dialogue and negotiation and opposes unilateral sanctions; China stands on the side of easing the situation and opposes fueling the fire.
