UN accuses Russian forces of actions 'amounting to war crimes' in Ukraine

The United Nations on Friday accused the Russian military of committing actions that "may amount to war crimes" in Ukraine since the February 24 invasion, including indiscriminate bombing that killed civilians and destroyed schools and hospitals.

"The Russian armed forces have indiscriminately bombed populated areas, killing civilians and destroying hospitals, schools and other civilian infrastructure, all of which may amount to war crimes," UN human rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani said during a regular press conference in Geneva.
