In March, Umeå had the highest spread of covid-19 in the country, according to the measurements in the wastewater.

Since then, the spread of infection has decreased over time.

But in the last week, the numbers have risen slightly again, which gives Umeå a first place on the list of highest spread of infection.

The measurements are made in slightly different ways and are only done in a number of cities in Sweden.

- Everything indicates that Umeå has the highest numbers right now of the cities that measured the infection, says Maja Malmberg, SLU.

Next highest is Älvkarleby followed by Uppsala.

But Malmberg believes that this week's increase should not be seen as particularly large in this context.

- It is only a small increase, but it shows that the pandemic is not over and that there are viruses left, she says.

Every Monday, SLU presents new corona figures based on measurements of wastewater around Sweden.
