“In 2022, Tinkoff will rebrand and stop using the old brand,” the bank said in a statement.

The report notes that the company "has been preparing for this step for a long time."

The bank also said that "recent events have made this decision even more relevant."

The credit institution added that Tinkoff Bank had "long outgrown the original meaning of the 'name' brand," noting that "the bank is owned by tens of thousands of investors in Russia and abroad."

Earlier, Tinkoff Bank refused to comment on the statement of businessman Oleg Tinkov regarding Russia's military special operation in Ukraine, calling his words "personal opinion."

As RIA Novosti reported, earlier the businessman criticized the special operation in Ukraine on his page on the social network.
