It is a 26-year-old, a 23-year-old and a 32-year-old who are today charged with having blown up the entrance at the police station in Helsingborg at 00.20 on the night of 17 October 2017.

All men have strong connections to Helsingborg's criminal world, which feeds on drug trafficking.

Two of them are already serving long prison sentences, the third has been in custody since January this year.

The men are now being prosecuted for gross general destruction and gross violation of the law on flammable and explosive goods.

They deny the allegations.

120 people were near or in the police station at the time of the explosion

The explosion was heard in several adjacent districts in Helsingborg and caused major material damage to the police station and shattered windows on the building opposite.

Night staff and detainees were in the police station when the explosion took place.

A total of 120 people were in or near the police station.

No one was injured.

The crime took a long time to investigate

Immediately after the explosion, the police suspected that the youngest of the now accused was involved in the explosion and began a reconnaissance operation called "Pamela" where he was intercepted in telephone conversations and bugged rooms.

But the police were forced down in February 2019 because there was not enough evidence.

Now the prosecutor, who does not want to stand for an interview, writes in a press release that they have technical evidence in the form of a jacket with the same explosive components as at the police station.

A scooter with the same substances was also found in one of the suspects' storerooms.
