In March, a 55-year-old man was charged with unlawful threats against a journalist on SVT Nyheter Västerbotten.
The threats were made via email where the man asked the journalist to report on a certain topic.
Otherwise, he would seek out the journalist at home and expose him to crime.
In the email, the man wrote, among other things, “you little pee rat, I meet you every day of the week.
Your cowardly little shit.
It will be fun to meet ”.
He also stated the journalist's address in one of the emails and that he would get there.
Umeå District Court now convicts the man of unlawful threats.
The penalty was a suspended sentence and a daily fine.
The man must also pay damages to the journalist of SEK 5,000.
