On April 20, local time, a plane carrying U.S. Army paratroopers performed a parachute mission over Washington, D.C., as part of a celebration.

However, due to poor communication between the FAA and the Capitol Hill police, the flight of the plane involved was seen as a possible security threat to Congress, and the U.S. Capitol Police conducted an emergency evacuation of the Capitol that night.

The paratroopers landed less than two kilometers from the Capitol.

Subsequently, the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Pelosi made a statement on the emergency evacuation of Congress that day. Pelosi accused the FAA's "negligence" as the main cause of the "panic" in the Capitol that day.
