New twist in the case of the tragic car accident which claimed the life of a young woman in December 2014 in Glomel (Côtes-d'Armor).

The Court of Cassation decided on Thursday to reopen an investigation into the facts, reports

Ouest France

.

On December 27, 2014, the 22-year-old Breton girl changed lanes while driving her car and hit an oncoming vehicle.

The victim did not survive his injuries.

The gendarmerie investigation concluded that there was a lack of control on his part, without being able to determine the origin.

Seven years of struggle for parents

The victim's parents never believed this version and have been trying since 2015 to have the case reopened.

They conducted a private expertise which brought out new elements in the case, including the possible intervention of a third party.

If the investigating judge and the court of appeal both refused this way, judging it inadmissible for procedural reasons, the Court of Cassation decided otherwise.

An investigation will therefore be opened again and entrusted to an investigating judge.
