- For us, it is obvious to go to the polls as our own political force.

This is what our members and voters expect, says Magnus P. Wåhlin (MP), group leader of the Green Party in Växjö.

The co-operation in Växjö cracked already before the 2018 election. At that time, the MP threatened to leave the co-operation if the alliance at national level co-operated with SD.

Now, four years later, the MP chooses to leave the five-leaf clover in Växjö.

The announcement means that MP is leaving all his leading positions in the municipality.

Filling elections for the positions that the Green Party leaves will take place at the City Council on 17 May.

The Green Party will submit its own budget proposal for the year 2023, and go to the polls as its own party this autumn.

The Alliance governs further

The alliance parties, consisting of the Moderates, the Center Party, the Liberals and the Christian Democrats, announce at the press conference that they will continue to govern the municipality.

- It is a priority for us to follow the municipality's budget process, so that employees and residents know that there is order in the municipality, says Anna Tenje (M), chairman of the municipal board in Växjö municipality.
