During the night of Thursday to Friday, a fire broke out in an industrial laundry located in Orvault, near Nantes.

The Loire-Atlantique firefighters intervened at 2 a.m. on this building with an area of ​​2,500 m². 

The rescue action first made it possible to protect the vehicles parked around the building: four heavy goods vehicles and eight cars.

As for the laundry, it was destroyed by the flames, with the exception of the administrative part, reports the departmental fire and rescue service (Sdis). 

Nearly 70 employees on technical unemployment

In all, fifteen emergency vehicles were mobilized, as well as nearly 60 firefighters.

No victims are to be deplored but 66 employees of the laundry company are now on technical unemployment.

#ORVAULT intervention - The firefighters treat the residual homes and carry out toxicity checks, the results of which are satisfactory.


A residual smell of smoke can be perceived in the immediate environment, without presenting any danger to people.
