The United Nations announced that the number of Ukrainians displaced inside Ukraine as a result of the Russian war is more than 7.7 million.

The International Organization for Migration of the United Nations said that 60% of the displaced are women, more than half a million people than the total it published on the fifth of this April, which amounted to 7.1 million displaced people today.

The Director of the International Organization for Migration, Antonio Vitorino, stressed that "women, children, the elderly and the disabled" are the most affected by the Russian war on Ukraine.

Vitorino stressed that the organization continues to provide aid to the displaced and vulnerable populations, stressing the need to reach a humanitarian truce that would allow the delivery of aid and access to hard-to-reach communities.

It is noteworthy that more than 4.1 million Ukrainians have fled their country to neighboring countries since the start of the Russian war on Ukraine on February 24, according to the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

According to a survey of the International Organization for Migration, about 3.47 million people fled from eastern Ukraine, 1.77 million people from the north, and 1.46 million people from the Kyiv region.

The survey revealed that 37% of the displaced, or 2.85 million people, are currently in the west of the country, where conditions are relatively safer.

The organization indicated that its recent survey showed that 2.77 million people returned to their homes after evacuating them over a period of at least 14 days, with an average time of 30 days between their displacement and their return to their homes. that their areas are safe.

The International Organization for Migration said that "it is too early to issue a conclusive description of the nature of these returns (to know) whether they are permanent or temporary."

According to the survey, more than half of the displaced families include children, and 57% of them include the elderly, while 37% of the families include people suffering from chronic diseases, and the organization estimates that 1.34 million people intend to leave their homes.
