The Pentagon: The Russians have not been answering our calls for weeks

The US Pentagon announced that he is trying to connect Russian since the military leadership, but without any success.

Commenting on the possibility of contacting the Russian side, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said during a press conference on Thursday, "We've been trying for several weeks, but they don't seem interested."

Kirby pointed out that "sanctions do not affect the answer contacts" between Washington and Moscow, according to the agency "Novosti".

On April 13, Kirby announced US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin's attempts to contact his Russian counterpart, Sergei Shoigu, but the Russian side did not respond to these attempts.

The Pentagon also tried earlier to contact the Chief of Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, Valery Gerasimov, against the background of the Russian military operation in Ukraine, but without any success.
