In Florida (United States), a Chihuahua dog has just been recognized as the oldest living dog in the world by Guinness World Records.
TobyKeith is 21 years and three months old, well above the normal life expectancy for a dog of this breed, which ranges from 12 to 18 years.
The little dog, born on January 9, 2001, was adopted from an animal shelter when he was just a few months old.
His owner indicated that he had a routine that he never deviated from, which may be the key to his longevity.
Every morning, he gets up at 6:30 a.m. to take his walk before eating.
The rest of his day, he alternates between a walk and a nap.

Despite his good quality of life, TobyKeith suffers from a heart condition but which would not cause him any daily worries.
Despite his advanced age, he has yet to break the record for the oldest dog in the world.
The title holder is an Australian Cattle Dog.
He died at the age of 29 years and 5 months in 1939. Still a little more than eight years to go for the chihuahua if he wants to win a new record.
