The alarm about an assault outdoors on Serenadgatan in Malmö came at half past five on Thursday night.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital by ambulance and the incident is classified as aggravated assault.
It is unclear how seriously injured the man is.
The police investigated the suspected crime scene with the help of a special search dog.
There was also information that shots had been fired in the area.
An unknown perpetrator is said to have shot at two men in their 20s.
None of them were injured, but a report of attempted murder and a felony has been made.
