The ex-ecologist candidate for the presidential Yannick Jadot calls to vote Emmanuel Macron in a forum in the "World" Thursday, "without pleasure but without hesitation", also evoking the legislative elections where he wants a "powerful ecological, social and republican bloc" .

He proposes a "citizen convention for democratic renewal" the result of which would be submitted to a referendum.

In a column published in the newspaper Le Monde, Yannick Jadot calls for a vote for Emmanuel Macron.

"I will place an Emmanuel Macron ballot in the ballot box to prevent Marine Le Pen and the far right from gaining power in our country", writes the MEP, reiterating his call on the evening of April 10, when he had obtained 4 .6% of the votes.

"I will do it without hesitation, without ambiguity, in complete clarity", he said, insisting: "To abstain, to vote blank or null, is to make possible the victory of Marine Le Pen."

"Playing Russian Roulette"

Yannick Jadot is thus referring to the hesitation of many left-wing voters - even in his own electorate - who distrust the outgoing president.

But he also tackles, without naming him, the absence of instructions, apart from a "Not a voice to Mrs. Le Pen", by Jean-Luc Mélenchon (21.95%).

"Some political leaders, sometimes so quick to evoke + History +, with a capital H, pretend to forget the lessons: when the far-right bloc exceeds 30% in the first round, boasting the + ni-ni + comes down to play Russian roulette," he said.

"And betting on the responsibility of others to flatter part of his electorate is not up to the challenge of civilization that arises," adds Yannick Jadot.

He specifies: "This Emmanuel Macron vote is not worth discharge for his record marked by climate inaction, social denial and democratic contempt".

To counter it, it will be necessary to "give strength, to the National Assembly, to a powerful ecological, social and republican bloc", he said about the legislative elections of June 12 and 19, when negotiations began between rebellious , ecologists and communists with a view to a coalition agreement.

Mr. Jadot evokes a "VI Republic", a theme dear to Jean-Luc Mélenchon, who asked the French to elect him Prime Minister via the legislative elections.

He proposes a "citizen convention for democratic renewal" the result of which would be submitted to a referendum.
