Luc Carvounas, PS mayor of Alfortville (Val-de-Marne), recently expressed concern about the upsurge in thefts on board RATP buses circulating in the city.

Pickpockets are particularly active in vehicles providing service on line 103 between Maisons-Alfort and Thiais, says

The elected official decided to contact Ile-de-France Mobilité by post.

The security in question

He wants the union in charge of public transport in the Ile-de-France to quickly increase the number of specialized police officers present on the bus line.

“The first thing is to guarantee travelers the basic security they can expect within our infrastructure,” said Luc Carvounas.

The mayor fears that the thefts will discourage residents from taking the bus.

Faced with what he describes as an “unacceptable situation”, the city councilor also recommended that passengers be extra careful.

He indeed indicated that a large part of the facts found were thefts by trickery.
