We call her "Elin".

She has been suffering from severe anorexia for eight years and has been admitted to Sunderby Hospital several times.

But for two weeks it was the first time her treatment was interrupted due to staff shortages.

Treatment was discontinued

- They closed the department because they could not staff it with staff, she says.

Her treatment was discontinued at a time when she was still far from achieving the weight that was the goal.

"Elin" was then offered a place in the addiction ward, which is the largest ward in psychiatry at Sunderbyn, but declined.

- The staff there do not have the competence for eating disorders and it is a very large and stressful department, says "Elin".

Witness crying staff

"Elin" also believes that the stress among the staff has increased since the move to the new psychiatric ward.

- There have been staff who have sat and cried inside my room because they are so stressed, she says.

Hear "Elin" talk about the situation in psychiatry in the clip above.
