Deficiencies have recently been discovered at several City Gross stores in the country, including the store in Falun.

Meat products have been relabelled and given new best-before dates, according to the inspection report from Falu municipality.

- You must not change information that accompanies a food if it risks misleading the consumer, and it can probably be judged that it has done so in this case, says Jan Sjögren, head of department at the National Food Administration.

"Has no idea that there is a pattern"

The inspection in Falun was made after the National Food Administration drew the municipality's attention to misleading labeling on food in the chain's stores in other places in the country.

- We have no idea that there is a pattern, but I know that when you have had contact with the head office, you have pointed out that this is something you have seen, says Jan Sjögren.

"Glad it was noticed"

At City Gross supermarket in Falun, measures have now been taken to prevent this from happening again.

- We take what happened seriously.

We are happy that this has been noticed and we have unfortunately had a lack of routines, says the store manager in Falun, Peter Jansson.
