Kärrdahl Bedics commutes itself from Örebrohållet, from Frövi to Fagersta.

Previously, there was a morning departure at 07.17 which, together with a departure back in the afternoon, worked well with normal daytime hours.

But those departures were paused during the pandemic, and Tåg i Bergslagen has announced that they will not be reintroduced.

- I have solved it by starting work from home in the morning, and then taking the first direct train to Fagersta at 09 o'clock.

But not everyone can set up their work that way, she says.

The canceled train departures have also affected the hospital's opportunities to bring medical and nursing students from Örebro University.

Better train connections from Avesta, Gävle and Örebro

From Västerås, improvements have been made with denser traffic.

There, the problem is instead the uncertainty surrounding canceled and delayed trains.

There, Kärrdahl Bedics experiences that many feel that it is not possible to commute if they do not have a car as a backup.

From other places, Avesta, Gävle and Örebro, departures by direct train are few and not adapted to normal working hours.

What can you do yourself to attract people to actually come here?

- It is difficult this with supplements and compensation, it is difficult to delimit to whom it should apply.

It should be equal, you should not be punished for living in Fagersta.

But we are working on how we can attract nurses to want to come here, says Beate Kärrdahl Bedics.

In the clip: "If we do not get staff, we will not get equal care" - so the hospital is affected by the commuting opportunities to Fagersta.
