"The United Protestant Church of France calls for the protection of our democracy, founded on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, and to block the proposals of the National Rally, based on the questioning of fundamental freedoms (thought, press, demonstration, teaching...), exclusion and in total rupture with the basic principles of the Republic", writes its president Emmanuelle Seyboldt.

According to her, "the desire for sanction against the outgoing government, and its translation by abstention, could tip the Republic into a harmful and chaotic adventure", she adds.

On Sunday, in a separate press release, the Protestant Federation of France (of which the EPUdF is a member) had indicated that it wanted to "contest anything that would question and betray the message of the Gospel" and challenged "the citizens concerning the dangers of the 'abstention".

This representative organization of the Protestant faith with the public authorities had recalled "how much its commitments could be hindered in the event of victory of the National Rally: the word in favor of religious freedom, actions for the reception of exiles, foreigners , works with the most vulnerable, advocacy on climate issues, and more generally the project to promote fraternity and fight against inequalities in a society that needs to come together."
