• Politics The Government will only give explanations about the CNI and espionage to the independence movement in a commission that has not been constituted for three years

  • Catalonia Aragonès now threatens to withdraw parliamentary support for Sánchez for spying on separatists

United We Can has joined the pro-independence parties to try to force the PSOE to accept an investigative commission in Congress to investigate whether there has been massive espionage on the leaders of the Catalan and Basque separatist parties through the Pegasus system.

The

purples

, who are part of the Government, have registered this Wednesday a joint petition to promote the creation of said commission together with

ERC

,

Junts

,

EH Bildu

,

PNV

,

PDeCAT

, the

CUP

,

BNG

,

Más País

and

Compromís

.

For its approval and implementation they would need the votes of the PSOE, which has been maintaining that the framework in which explanations have to be given is the official secrets commission of Congress, which has not met for three years because it has not even been constituted.

This is where the parties can be informed of the work carried out by the National Intelligence Center (CNI).

For the groups that have presented the petition, it is an "extremely serious" matter and they demand that a thorough investigation be carried out if "public bodies and resources have been used for political persecution", in an "intrusion into the intimacy and privacy" of "political leaders, activists, lawyers, journalists, institutions and their relatives and relatives."

In their statement of reasons, these parties point out that since the Israeli Pegasus

software

, which would have been used for alleged espionage, is only sold to law enforcement and intelligence agencies, "responsibility for espionage points directly to the Spanish Government" .

Thus, they estimate that there would be 65 people affected, among whom would be

Pere Aragonès

,

Quim Torra

,

Artur Mas

,

Oriol Junqueras

,

Jordi Cuixart

,

Laura Borrás

,

Roger Torrent

,

Arnaldo Otegi

,

Jordi Sànchez

or

Gonzalo Boye
