No less than 67 farm animals and a wild ostrich were rescued this Saturday in Les Mureaux (Yvelines).

A walker had raised the alarm after seeing the ostrich in a tiny enclosure, reports

.

An investigation for animal abuse had been opened following this report.

This Saturday, investigators discovered a real horror farm.

Carcasses of hens, badgers, and a fox in an advanced state of decomposition were strewn on the ground.

The animals still alive, 60 hens and seven pigs, were starving.

The ostrich soon welcomed in a zoo

The association Lutte Animale Nouvel Avenir (Lana) had been called in for reinforcement by the police.

Thanks to the volunteers, a chain of solidarity has been set up so that the animals are placed in foster families.

Many animals have thus been welcomed by individuals from Yvelines and Essonne.

The other part was collected in a pension for horses.

As for the ostrich, it should soon be welcomed by a zoo in the region.
