Approximately 500 Myanmar minorities, Rohingya, escaped from a facility in Malaysia that housed illegal immigrants, six of whom were killed in a car while escaping.

Before the escape, there was a riot at the facility, so police are tracking the whereabouts of those who fled and investigating the details.

According to Malaysian police, 528 people escaped from a temporary detention center for illegal immigrants in Penang, northern Malaysia, around 4:30 am local time on the 20th.



The escape was from the Rohingya, a minority in Myanmar, who had been detained in the facility, of whom six men and women, including two children, were killed by a car on the highway on their way out.



In addition, police and others have detained 391 people so far, but the whereabouts of more than 100 people are still unknown and a search is being conducted.
