Olympic champions, vice-champions of Europe in 2020 and of the world in 2021, Olivier Krumbholz's players were dominated throughout the meeting in the Czech Republic and failed to turn the match in their favor in the last few minutes.

The French had won their first four qualifying matches, validating their ticket to the Euro in March even before the last two meetings.

The Czech Republic, with this success, is relaunching in the race for the second ticket, in the fight with Croatia (two victories each), bronze medalist at Euro-2020, which beat Ukraine on Wednesday.

The draw for the group stage of Euro-2022, scheduled for November 4-20 in Montenegro, North Macedonia and Slovenia, will take place in Ljubljana on April 28.
